It’s getting easier to listen but harder to be heard
We’re becoming connected in so many ways. We can now interact in real-time with our friends, our professional network, or people we admire. However, all the networks have the same problem. Although we may be able to curate who we listen to, it’s increasingly difficult to be heard by the right people.
Winning search and social are complicated
Whether it’s search or social, it’s unreasonable to expect people to work to manipulate each system to build an audience. People should focus on doing great work and not on how they’re going to tell people about the work. Do we really think that the best way to share an idea is for it to go viral and be re-shared by countless people?
Kapuno loves community
Kapuno makes it simple to share experiences, knowledge, or gather feedback from interest-based communities. Unlike any other platform, our focus is on building, maintaining and nurturing diverse communities. We’re working to be the water-cooler for our communities.
Understanding performance
We will provide best-of-breed analytics on conversation performance for posters. Although we are currently tracking the metrics, reporting and notifications will be rolled out over the coming months after we seed our first communities.
Relationships based on interactions over time
Kapuno is not a social network. Nevertheless, members on the platform do build relationships based on how they interact with one another. The current product shows a member whether they’ve been helpful to another member and allows any member to see how many distinct individuals have been helped. Over time, we’ll continue to focus on tracking relationships based on engagement vs. stated link, e.g. friends, co-worker, etc.
I’ve attached a favorite video by Ze Frank video that’s quite fitting for a our beginning.
