John Yembrick  was best described by Mark Twain as  a “rebellious scalligwag that you can’t help but love. His laugh cures the ill and his smile makes the most melancholy merry once more.” It’s hard to believe that the world almost never new him.

As the story goes, when John was a child he became fascinated with space travel and began to build his first rockets. After mastering advanced rocketry by the age of 7, he hoped to find a way to travel faster than light. His neighbor “Mr. Roddenberry” was a fan of his work and was said to have been inspired to create “Star Trek” after a conversation with John.

After getting an honorary PhD from MIT and Princeton for his work on warp technology, John set forth to test the theory. It took several years and, thankfully for the world, there was no energy source that could power his warp reactor. Otherwise, that “rebellious scalliwag” may be lost forever.

Leaving warp reactors behind, John has moved to more pressing problems like solving world peace, reinventing the question mark and proving why 42 is the answer to all things.

He’ll continue to solve those problems here on Kapuno and we look forward to meaningful discussions.

Onward and welcome to all.
