Email digests, updated design, and more!

We’re listening and hard at work to improve the experience for our burgeoning communities. Over the past two weeks we’ve improved the readability, added the ability to feature conversations which will help produce better email digests.

Our hope is to remove the need for forums/list-serve for niche discussion. To get there, we realize that we need to provide a simpler experience which still caters to the many who love to use email.

We’ll start testing the daily digests in the Ocean Conservation community and work through any issues before rolling it out to other communities.

So what’s new:

1. View who’s in your communities by clicking the member count on community pages. We’ll be breaking this out in to a full-page experience soon. But it’s a great way to see who just joined.

2. Kapuno will begin featuring top content in communities, and via digest emails. You’ll notice stars beside featured content in feeds and on the conversation. We’ll be adding more prominence to these posts shortly, especially for people who view your communities who are not logged in.

3. We’ve changed the email settings to account for the new daily digest. See them here: http://kapuno.com/settings/editinfo#nav=preferences

4. New typeface across the site and on all email correspondences. Also, we auto-magically detect longer-form content and clean up the posts accordingly.

5. Clean up of attachments on conversation, and summarizing of top three pieces of experience on profiles.

6. Select communities will begin to receive daily digests starting Tuesday the 18th. Note that we only send digests in communities which are active, if and when there is conversation activity on the day.

7. Many many many minor fixes and improvements across the product.
